Built as Southern Pacific 7301 in March, 1962, part of a single order for ten units, and renumbered Southern Pacific 4001 in the 1965 general renumbering. It was retired in May, 1977, and sold to Chrome Crankshaft 1001 in November, 1978. It again sold to Fundidora Monterrey 4001, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.
