Milwaukee Road 1802 > Milwaukee Road 760

Built as Milwaukee Road 1802, the first Fairbanks-Morse locomotive built. It was renumbered Milwaukee Road 760 in July, 1959. It was retired in October, 1981, and was donated to the Illinois Railroad Museum in November, 1981.This engine featured a cast steel frame from General Steel Castings, the same vendor supplying identical frames to Baldwin. Equipment layout was essentially the same as on a Baldwin VO1000, except for the Fairbanks-Morse opposed piston engine. The hood was unlike any other H10-44, with a unique layout of louvered panels on the hood and hood doors.
