Built as Spokane, Portland & Seattle 317 in August, 1965, as part of the railroad’s second order for C425’s. It became Burlington Northern 4257 in the 1970 merger and was retired in August 1980 and sold to Kyle Railroad 4257.

Spokane Portland & Seattle placed three orders for C425’s after buying seven C425’s in June, 1964:

  1. Spokane Portland & Seattle 310 – 313, delivered in June, 1965
  2. Spokane Portland & Seattle 314 – 317, delivered in August, 1965
  3. Spokane Portland & Seattle 320 – 327, delivered in June, 1966
